My interest in computers began all the way back in the 80s, when my dad taught me how to use his Commodore 64! Whether it was firing up a game of "The Great American Cross Country Road Race," or trying to compile a machine language program from an old issue of COMPUTE!'s Gazette magazine, more often than not you could find me at that giant, unwieldy keyboard. My dad bought the family its first PC in 1997, and I've been fascinated by all things computer ever since.
In college I studied several different programming languages, including ASM370, FORTRAN, Visual Basic 4, and Java, in addition to scripted languages like HTML and JavaScript. Ironically, the platform/language I ended up sticking with was one for which I never took a class (as one wasn't offered at the time) -- Microsoft's .NET Framework/C#.
I've been a full-time .NET developer since 2006 (version 2.0), and as I've watched the platform evolve, there is no doubt in my mind that I made the correct choice. In addition to my day job, I've developed e-commerce web sites for a few clients, including merchant account integration and administrative functionality so that the client could maintain his/her site.
